This city was founded on affordability and equity, but right now a quarter of our residents pay half their income or more in rent every month. How much are we willing to pay before we recognize that we’re in a full-blown affordability crisis?
I’m not a politician. I’m a TV writer. I moved here ten years ago from New Orleans. I was living there before and after Hurricane Katrina, so I know something about a crisis. And right now I can see one on the horizon, but I can also see the solution. It’s going to take a lot of hard work and unified effort, but I’m used to collaborating creatively to get things done.
I’m running for City Council in West Hollywood because I want people to have homes they can afford. I want our streets to be safe, our businesses to be thriving, and our city and our sidewalks to be accessible to all.
